    This plant is found in the range from Bolivia through Colombia and into Peru, growing anywhere from an altitude of 400-700 ft as a terrestrial, in swampy land in Bolivia to a holo-epiphyte or hemi-epipmyte at elevations of 4500-6000 feet in the Andes of Peru. Best grown on a totem as it is a climber.
